The City, independent authorities, Duval County Public Schools and Bi-Lo have partnered to collect nonperishable food for those affected in the Northeast by Hurricane Sandy. Bi-Lo Chairman Randall Onstead (at podium) launched the drive Monday by donating two tractor-trailers filled with food donations. The City, public schools and independent authorities will have bins through Monday at their facilities, including all 151 Duval County public K-12 schools, to collect donations. The City also will take donations Downtown during the Veterans Day Parade on Monday. The goods will be shipped next week to the Northeast.
