Old courthouse demolition: RFP for inspection services draws one response

Consultant seeks work on old courthouse and annex that will be torn down.

Construction and Engineering Services Consultants Inc. was the sole applicant Wednesday that responded to a request for proposals by the city Procurement Division to provide construction engineering and inspection services during the demolition of the old Duval County Courthouse and City Hall Annex at 220 and 330 E. Bay St.

The bid will be reviewed by the city for sufficiency.

The scope of work includes contract administration, inspection and coordination of materials sampling and testing for the demolition and site restoration.

C&ES is a minority-owned business with offices at 9432 Baymeadows Road. According to its website, the company has done work for JaxPort and JEA.

Environmental Holding Group Inc. was awarded the demolition contract and given the Notice to Proceed on July 26.
