• Geri Buchanan, dietetic technician at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, has been named Florida’s Dietetic Technician of the Year for 2002. She works primarily with transitional care patients, helping determine a dietary regiment for their stay.

• Monticello Bank is building a 5,600 square-foot building near the corner of St. Augustine and Hartley roads. A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for May 29 at 10 a.m.

• Offshore Sailing School is opening a location at Whitney’s Marine in Orange Park. The school will host a grand opening celebration June 8 from 1-4 p.m.

• The Jacksonville Housing Authority has been designated a High Performer by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the fourth consecutive year. The designation is based on an annual assessment of management operations, physical condition of JHA communities, financial condition of the agency and a measurement of resident service and satisfaction.
