• Empire Communications Group’s design work for the Jacksonville-based Bove Company has received international recognition. Empire’s corporate identity design for the construction firm was selected as a winner in the LOGO 2002 competition, an international design contest.

• Community Connections of Jacksonville will dedicate its newly renovated and expanded building at the A.L. Lewis Center today at 3:30 p.m. The dedication is open to the public.

• CenterBank of Jacksonville has been awarded the Small Business Administration’s certified lender status. The certification gives CenterBank a guarantee from the SBA that there will be a three-day turnaround on applications, allowing CenterBank to process SBA loans much faster.

• Adm. Jonathan Howe is the speaker at Monday’s Meninak Club meeting at the Radisson.

• Joe Bennett, vice president of Jacksonville Lending Services for Cendant Mortgage, has been appointed to the board of directors for the daniel Foundation.

• Frederick Newbill, chairman of the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission, is the speaker at Monday’s Rotary Club meeting at the Omni.
