Carolyn McMoran has been a branch manager with Countrywide Home Loans for seven years.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

“A little bit of everything. We do everything here from prequalifying through to the funding and post closing of loans. We are a turn-key operation. Everything including processing, underwriting, shipping and closings are all done in-house. The branch manager is responsible for the total overall operation as well as generating new business and involvement in community activities.”

HOW DID YOU GET INTO LENDING?

“I think I was raised in it. My sister and my mother have both been in real estate related fields, but I had more of an aptitude for the numbers side of it, so I started out as a junior processor and worked my way up.”

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT LENDING?

“First time home buyers. We give them an American flag because it is an American dream to own a home.”

BEFORE CURRENT COMPANY?

She started with Mainline Mortgage, so she could learn about the community and get to know the REALTORS in Jacksonville. “Before that I was in Virginia Beach with Prosperity Mortgage, a real estate-owned mortgage company.” She has spent a total of 30 years in the mortgage business.

WHERE IS YOUR COMPANY LOCATED?

In the Sandcastle Shopping Center in Jacksonville Beach.

WHERE IS YOUR PARENT COMPANY LOCATED?

The company has two main offices, one in Texas and one in California.

WHAT IS AVERAGE DOLLAR VOLUME FOR CLOSING THAT YOUR OFFICE DOES EACH MONTH IN JACKSONVILLE?

“About $17-19 million a month.”

HOW MANY ARE ON YOUR STAFF?

She has a branch operations manager, five processors, seven external home loan consultants and one internal home loan consultant.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE LENDING OF

“We are an full-service lender. We pride ourselves in being able to do government, conventional and home equity loans.”

HOW DO YOU PROMOTE YOUR COMPANY?

“Through advertising and service.”

She is a member of the Northeast Florida Builders Association’s Sales and Marketing Council, NEFBA, Northeast Florida Association of REALTORS, Toastmasters and Women’s Council of REALTORS.

MOVED TO JACKSONVILLE

In 1994, to be near her sister, Barbara Lamb, who handles real estate closings at Bushman Ahern Persons & Bankston law firm.

FAMILY

Married to Daniel McMoran, a real estate broker and real estate appraiser with Abell & Associates, for 19 years. They have four children: Dana, Leslie, Kelly and Michael, and four grandchildren.

HOBBIES

Attending Jacksonville Jaguars games, “I bleed teal.” She is also a shopaholic and likes to take long drives to visit different areas.

RESIDES

Ponte Vedra Beach.

FAVORITES

Her favorite movie is “Charlotte’s Web” and her favorite books are “Failing Forward,” by John Maxwell and “I’m No Hero: A POW Story” by Charlie Plumb. Her favorite place to dine out is The Rite Spot in Jacksonville Beach and her favorite television show is “CSI.” When traveling, she enjoys Maui. “It was absolutely gorgeous and I’d love to go back.”
