Following 10 years in Dallas, Suzanne Cash recently returned to Jacksonville to become sales manager for One Shipyard Place.

WHAT DOES YOUR JOB INVOLVE?

“My key role is the development of sales. I am an on-site sales associate for Prudential Network Realty. I do a little bit of everything: sales and follow-up, advertising and marketing coordination and event planning — to name a few.”

BEST PART OF

LIVING IN DALLAS?

“The diversity represented by the shopping, restaurants and the people. There are so many things of interest in the downtown area. Everything you need is right there, within 30 minutes. It’s very similar to where we’re headed here in Jacksonville.”

GLAD TO SEE WATER

“The nicest thing about Jacksonville is the river and all the water. Living in Dallas, I really missed that. I’m a beach person. Now, I guess I’m a river person.”

LOVES WHERE SHE’S LIVING

“I moved to Riverside to be close to the water. I absolutely love it. The beauty, charm and history of the area is unparalleled. There’s a Publix 30 steps from my house, and a Starbucks opened about a month ago. I have everything right there at my fingertips. In the evenings, I like to take my coffee out to my balcony and drink it looking out at the river. It’s so beautiful. There’s nothing like it.”

THE BEST OF THE OLD AND NEW

“What’s so wonderful about Jacksonville is that it still has the charm of a southern city, and yet we have such a wonderful future ahead of us. Really, we’re just beginning to skim the surface.”

A BIG FAMILY

“My parents live here, and I am the oldest of seven children. I was born in Atlanta, but we’ve lived in Jacksonville for a number of years. I feel like I’m a native.”

HOBBIES?

“I play tennis and the violin. I love art and music, and I enjoy working out at the gym. I’m not a golfer, even though I drive a mean cart and make a wicked Bloody Mary. I just started my new job a couple of months ago, so that’s kept me really busy. Any spare time I do have, I devote to learning all I can about Jacksonville. Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time at Lamb’s [a marina in Ortega]. I’m finding out so many interesting things, such as what constitutes a boat verses a yacht, and how far you can actually travel on the river [130 miles, to Sanford]. I love boating and sailing and I hope to get back into that eventually. But right now, my job is my life.”
