Rotary Club awards Foundation grants

The Rotary Club presented checks to three organizations Monday during its luncheon meeting at the Omni. Rotary Charity Foundation awards went to the Children’s Crisis Center, Clara White Mission and Holy Rosary Catholic School to further philanthropic work. The children’s center received $6,349.48 to provide medical equipment for the examination of abused and neglected children. The Clara White Mission received $49,682.75 to fund a pavilion for its homeless guests. Part of a $2.1 million project, training for veterans and ex-convicts to enter the hospitality industry will take place in an adjoining structure. The Northside school of Holy Rosary was awarded $7,343.90 to replace its current intercom system, which has been in use since the building was built in 1958.
