The Jacksonville Transportation Authority will provide free transportation Saturday via the Skyway for Art in the Park.

The Skyway will be operational 9 a.m.-4 p.m. from Kings Avenue Station on the Southbank to Rosa Parks Transit Station near Florida State College at Jacksonville.

Free parking and Skyway service will be available at the Houston and Stewart streets lots, north of the Prime Osborn Convention Center Skyway Station.

Art in the Park is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Hemming Park. The event is presented by the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville and sponsored by Community First Credit Union.

The event will feature exhibits by the city’s cultural organizations and the Science Café sponsored by the Museum of Science & History. Performances by local arts organizations will begin at 10:15 a.m. when Players by the Sea present selections from “Aida.”

Cathedral Arts Project, Smith Creative, Stage Aurora and Theatre Jacksonville also are scheduled to perform.

The finale on the main stage at 2:30 p.m. will be a performance by the John Lumpkin Jazz Trio presented by Ritz Theatre and LaVilla Museum.

There will be a scavenger hunt where teams will compete for arts and culture prize packages, such as tickets to Theatre Jacksonville’s production of “Hairspray,” a family membership to the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens and free admission tickets to the Museum of Contemporary Art and Museum of Science & History and Riverside Arts Market gift tokens.

Laura and Monroe streets adjacent to the park will be closed for Vagabond Flea, the monthly weekend artisan and crafts show.

Complimentary access to the Skyway is available 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Friday. Skyway trains depart the stations approximately every three minutes during peak periods and about every six minutes all other times.
