As the pandemic continues and recovery plans progress, Gunster Jacksonville partner and Florida Bar President-elect Mike Tanner will be one of the presenters for the remote “Florida Bar Town Hall: COVID-19 Court Operations and Recovery” at noon March 30.
Hosted by Florida Bar President Dori Foster-Morales, the one-hour CLE credit program also will provide court operations updates and plans and a status report on the legal profession.
Tanner will talk about the work of the Bar’s Pandemic Recovery Task Force.
The Zoom will feature opening remarks by state Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles Canady, followed by an update on the efforts of the Workgroup on the Continuity of Court Operations and Proceedings During and After COVID–19 by its chair, Judge Lisa Munyon.
Circuit Judge Margaret Steinbeck, chair of the Trial Court Budget Commission, will discuss the branch’s legislative budget request for 2021-22, specifically appropriations for the trial courts’ pandemic recovery plan and COVID-19 response needs.

Eric Gerbert joined McConnaughhay, Coonrod, Pope, Weaver & Stern in Jacksonville.
He practices workers’ compensation defense, including investigation of workplace accidents, responses to requests for benefits and defense of contested claims.

The Florida Supreme Court Committee on Standard Jury Instructions in Civil Cases seeks applicants for vacancies to be considered at the committee’s July meeting.
Candidates with significant trial or appellate experience are preferred. Members are expected to attend three meetings a year.
Additionally, the committee’s work requires that members view instructions objectively, making every effort to prepare balanced instructions that do not favor their own practice areas.
