The North Florida Green Chamber of Commerce to hold introductory reception

The group emphasizes green and sustainable business practices.

The North Florida Green Chamber of Commerce, a new member of the U.S. Green Chamber, is having its introductory reception 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Museum of Science & History, Downtown on the Southbank.

The North Florida Green Chamber of Commerce is a regional networking organization for all businesses and community organizations including nonprofits that emphasize green and sustainable business practices.

The event will be an opportunity to learn about the chamber from Michelle Thatcher, CEO of the U.S. Green Chamber, the local board of directors and founding members.

“There is a sense of urgency from First Coast business and civic leaders to learn and promote best practices for sustainability. The North Florida Green Chamber is poised to make a significant impact,” Executive Director Christina Kelcourse said in a news release.

Benefits for members include a newsletter, access to the chapter’s website to promote events and news, being listed in the local Green Market Place and on the chapter’s consumer app as well as sponsorship opportunities and discounts.

Tickets, including one drink ticket, are available for $10 in advance at northfloridagreenchamber.org or $15 at the door.
