Tim Tebow fans who unsuccessfully lobbied to get him signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars last year will be happy to learn they may at least bump into him at a local supermarket.

The University of Florida Heisman Trophy winner bought a $1.4 million home at Glen Kernan Golf and Country Club last month.

Tebow purchased the property, located at 4538 Swilcan Bridge Lane, from David and Virginia Bailey on June 27, according to Duval County Property records.

Dr. David J. Bailey is president and CEO of Nemours Foundation and a board certified physician specializing in pediatric gastroenterology.

Built in 2000 by Southern Living Magazine custom builder, Collier Homes, the 6,525-square-foot home last sold in 2009 for $1,375,000.

A former NFL quarterback, Tebow played two seasons for the Denver Broncos and one season for the New York Jets.

After his release in April 2013, Jaguars fans lobbied to get the local hero hired in Jacksonville, buying billboards and newspaper ads and holding rallies at EverBank Field. He was signed by the New England Patriots, but cut after preseason training.

Tebow became a starting quarterback for the University of Florida Gators during its 2007 season and was the first college sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy.  He became widely known for kneeling in prayer at games, a practice fans later dubbed “Tebowing.”

In December, ESPN announced it had hired Tebow to work as a college football analyst on the SEC Network it would launch in August.
