Construction will begin this fall on the Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar at the St. Johns Town Center. It’s expected to be complete by early 2020.

The Tommy Bahama store will relocate across the street from 4813 River City Drive to 4812 River City Drive in the former Brooks Brothers space. The walk-up bar likely would be located on the walkway to the Nordstrom entrance.

The 7,760-square-foot-space combines a full retail store, along with a restaurant and bar where guests order at the counter and have their food and drinks brought to the table.

A menu from the Estero location includes salads, bowls, sandwiches, sliders and tacos, as well as cocktails, beer and wine.

Brooks Brothers temporarily relocated into a storefront near Nordstrom and will move into 4812 River City Drive, Suite 137, next to Tommy Bahama when construction is complete.

In March, Thomas Chubb III, chairman of Tommy Bahama owner Oxford Industries Inc., said the Marlin Bar planned to open in Jacksonville later this year, along with another location in Fort Lauderdale.

The company operates 17 full-service Tommy Bahama Restaurant Bar & Store locations throughout the country.

“We believe opening additional locations that include a food and beverage element will continue to help fuel customer acquisition and growth for Tommy Bahama,” Chubb said.
