More than 180 members and sponsors of the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville gathered at a reception Tuesday night before a presentation by former U.S. Ambassador Steven Pifer at the University of North Florida University Center.

Pifer was an ambassador to Ukraine and is a senior fellow at the Brookings Center on the United States and Europe in Washington, D.C., and is director of the Brookings Arms Control Initiative.

He joined the reception before his presentation, “The United States and Russia: Two Years After the Reset.”

The presentation was part of the UNF Distinguished Voices and the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville Global Issues Evening series.

The World Affairs Council has more than 800 members.

The group also paid tribute to the late Rear Adm. Max King Morris, who died in 2007.
