New home for an old house

It was moving day at the Merrill House Thursday. The 123-year-old structure made the half-block move to its future resting place at the corner of A Philip Randolph Boulevard and Duval Street. Although the trip was short, the shuffle is necessary to make way for the new baseball park. Future plans for the Merrill House include a shipbuilding museum and possibly some offices. The move cost $70,000.
