Foster Hope is a private, non-profit organization established to support community-based programs that provide critical services to the foster children of Jacksonville. Among the programs currently supported by Foster Hope is the Guardian Ad Litem Program, which also is heavily supported by the volunteer services of Jacksonville attorneys. Established in 1980, the Guardian Ad Litem’s mission is to recruit, train and supervise volunteer guardians who represent the best interest of children alleged to be abused, neglected, or abandoned and who are involved in court proceedings. Due to recent state budget cuts and the legislative mandate to privatize many of the services that support the foster care system, the programs supported by Foster Hope are in severe need of additional funding to insure a high level of quality services for local children.

Foster Hope is responding to the funding needs of the programs it supports by presenting the Jacksonville premier of the film DINNER RUSH. On Friday, October 18th at 7pm, the Florida Theater will be transformed into a Hollywood Film Premier Gala including special appearances and a question and answer session with the film’s producer, director and cast members. The film, whose cast includes Danny Aiello, Eduardo Ballerini, John Corbett, and Vivian Wu, has received critical acclaim in its limited release in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and other major cities. All proceeds from this event will benefit the programs supported by Foster Hope, including the Guardian Ad Litem program.

Tickets for the event will be available at the September 18 Jacksonville Bar luncheon. A table with information about Foster Hope and the Gala will be available for attorneys and their guests to visit before and after the luncheon. General Admission tickets are being sold, as well as VIP tickets, which include preferred seating at the event and a post-film gourmet reception provided by some of Jacksonville’s finest restaurants. Benefactor, Contributor, Sponsor and Partner tickets also are being sold, which include the reception, preferred seating at the event and recognition of the firm or individual in promotional material, including city-wide advertising, press releases, signage and in the program, depending on the type of ticket level selected for purchase.
