Special to Realty/Builder Connection
Bryan Lendry has been elected to the Northeast Florida Builders Association’s executive committee as secretary-treasurer.
“Bryan is exceptionally smart and really cares about what he is doing,” noted NEFBA President Denise Wallace. “He’s very focused and takes great pride in his work. We are very pleased he’s on the executive board.”
Lendry is the founder, president and CEO of Custom Homes by Bryan Lendry and Brylan Homes, which is building in Nassau, Duval and St. Johns counties.
He started the company 10 years ago working out of a bedroom in his house. He now has a full staff of employees and offices in Sawgrass Village.
Lendry says he was surprised to learn that not everyone that works in the construction industry is a member of the Northeast Florida Builders Association. One of his immediate goals is to help increase NEFBA’s membership and Lendry has already made an impact.
Over 35 new members signed up as a result of his encouragement.
“I just took for granted that most people in our industry were already members and I was shocked to learn that wasn’t the case,” he explained. “It inspired me to do something about it. I want to get as many people as I can to understand the importance of NEFBA and realize how much the association does for us as a group.”
Lendry graduated from American International College in Massachusetts and moved to Atlanta in 1985, where he worked for Ryan Homes. He relocated to Ryan’s Jacksonville office the following year. A few years later, he left Ryan to work for a local custom builder before starting his own company.
“I love living here,” Lendry said. “This is such a nice coastal town. As a company, we’ve been very fortunate and we’ve seen steady, controlled growth.”
Lendry was Builder of Choice for the 1995 Symphony Guild Showcase Home and has won the 1998 Best in American Living Award as well as many Laurel and Aurora Awards. He hopes to be as successful increasing NEFBA’s membership.
Jeff Tabb, vice president of Custom Homes by Bryan Lendry, has been with Lendry since he started the
company.
“He works more hours than anyone I know,” commented Tabb, who’s also Lendry’s brother-in-law. “Bryan is very driven, has great integrity and always does the right thing. When he decided to get involved with working to increase NEFBA’s membership, he decided that he wanted to be a big contributor. That’s the kind of person he is.”
