Tony Salvatore has been an assistant manager and loan originator at ProStarr Lending for three years.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

“I originate the residential loan application process and help run the office.”

HOW DID YOU GET INTO LENDING?

“It was a natural progression from previous careers I’ve had. I was a contractor and custom home builder for about six years and then a real estate agent for about six years.”

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT LENDING?

“Being able to satisfy what the buyer needs. They want to buy a house and they can’t do it unless someone can loan them the money. I get a great deal of satisfaction helping buyers achieve their desire to own a home.”

WHAT IS THE ORIGINATION VOLUME FOR PROSTARR IN JACKSONVILLE?

“About $1.5 million a month.”

HOW MANY ARE ON YOUR STAFF?

Three loan officers and two processors.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE LENDING OF PROSTARR?

“I would characterize us as a broad spectrum lender. We do everything, including conventional, Federal Housing Authority, Veterans Administration, manufactured housing, jumbo loans and construction permanent loans.”

HOW DO YOU PROMOTE YOUR COMPANY?

“The principal means of promoting the company is direct face-to-face contact with real estate agents and builders.”

He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from United States Navy Post Graduate School in Monterey, Calif.

He has been married to Terrie, an accountant with the federal government, for 38 years. They have three daughters: Lynn, 36, Michele, 35, and Christina, 32, and one granddaughter, Isabella, who is 28 months.

HOBBIES

Golf, going to see local community theater, taking trips to New York to see Broadway shows and shag dancing.

FAVORITES

“Neverending Story” tops his movie list. “I like it because every time I watch it I discover some little intricate meaning the writer was trying to give us about life.”

The most recent book he read and would recommend is “Clear and Present Danger” by Tom Clancy. When dining out, it’s a toss up between Mossfire Grill and the original Pizza Palace in Riverside. When traveling, he enjoys Key West and New York City. When relaxing at home, he enjoys “Judging Amy.”
