To commemorate this year’s milestone, National Association of Home Builders President Kent Conine unveiled the official Northeast Florida Builder’s Association’s 60th Anniversary logo during his recent visit.

Renaissance Creative designed the logo and will be a symbol used throughout 2004 to identify celebration events and activities.

NEFBA, originally named the Jacksonville Homebuilders Association, was formed in 1944.

A group of 10 builders elected Joseph Davin as president. Davin is the only president to serve two consecutive terms. Since then the Association has grown to one of the largest in the nation. A name change to the Northeast Florida Builders Association in the mid-70’s signaled a new era in the industry.

“Home builders were branching out into commercial work and land development. The Association’s inclusive nature brought the industry together like never before,” said 60th Anniversary Chairman Rita Williams. “Leaders in the all sectors including remodeling and the trades that are vital to our industry, all saw a real need to form a strong, viable partnership through the Association.”
