Richard R. Dostie recently opened a 4,270-square-foot furnished model home in the Plantation Estates West neighborhood of Julington Creek Plantation.

Priced at $544,500, the Holly is a five-bedroom, four-bathroom brick home on a lake. The home includes a three-car garage, vaulted ceilings, formal living and dining rooms and an optional covered porch. The kitchen comes equipped with a breakfast nook, island cook top range and a walk-in pantry.

North Florida Builders finished 2002 with over $22 million in sales, achieving a company record. The company completed 41 new home sales during 2002, with the average sales price at over a half million dollars.

North Florida Builders is now building in seven Jacksonville area communities including Bartram Plantation, Julington Creek Plantation, World Golf Village, Pablo Bay, Palencia, Plantation Oaks, and its newest waterfront community, Newport Harbor in North Jacksonville.

GarageTek’s patented garage organizational system will be in every home sold this year by Cordele Builders and Bestcon Homes.

Each Cordele home will have one complete wall of GarageTek’s TekPanel and buyers will receive a complimentary one-hour session with GarageTek designers.

Bestcon will include a $2,000 GarageTek package which includes a wall and an accessories panel.

Cogdill Builders Inc. has opened a new 3,500-square-foot model home in River Hills Reserve, a gated neighborhood in Fleming Island Plantation.

Priced at $490,000, the Tuscany IV is a three bedroom/three and one half-bath model home that includes a three-car garage, ceramic tile throughout and a dining room with colonnade.

The home also features a gourmet kitchen with a full bar, a custom built-in computer workstation in the study, a state of the art entertainment center in the family room and a screened lanai.

Ervin, Lovett & Miller, the Jacksonville-based architectural, land planning, and landscape design firm, unveiled plans recently for St. Johns Forest, a gated residential community Taylor Woodrow is developing off CR 210 in north St. Johns County.

Steve Lovett, co-founder and partner in the firm, said Taylor Woodrow plans to start development soon.

Lovett said that altogether 745 homes are planned in the park like community.

Construction is currently underway on Town Square at Saint Johns, a new shopping center at World Golf Village.

Anchored by the existing Publix grocery store, the center will feature 20,000 square feet of retail space with 16 storefronts available for leasing.

Originally developed by Signature Marsgold of Ponte Vedra, the center was sold for $3.1 million to TCW Property Management, Inc. of South Florida last year.

Trammell Construction began pouring the concrete in mid-January and the project is scheduled for completion by early summer.

Ryland Homes of Jacksonville has started construction of two new model homes at Stonebriar at Oakleaf Plantation in northern Clay County.

Both models will open soon, said Jeff Agar, division manager for Ryland in the northeast Florida area.

Homes in Stonebrier are priced from $151,990. The model homes are base priced from $169,990 and $188,990 and will offer 2,177 and 2,619 square feet of living space on one floor.

Altogether, Ryland has 149 homesites at Oakleaf Plantation.

With only one home remaining at East Branch and only 13 more homes including the model at Pine Chase, Beazer Homes is in its closeout phase of its Julington Creek Plantation neighborhoods.

Visitors can view The Waverly as a model home offered in Pine Chase starting from $228,900. The Waverly model has four bedrooms, two baths, a formal living room and dining room, plus spacious family room, gourmet kitchen, a large covered patio and a grand master suite with separate tub and shower, double vanity and walk-in closet.

The other best-selling home in Pine Chase is The California, also priced at $228,900. This home is offered with four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, formal living and dining rooms, large gourmet kitchen with island, breakfast nook overlooking a large covered patio, spacious family room and a grand master suite that includes his and hers walk-in closets, dual vanity sinks, separate tub and shower.

Quick progress is being made on the construction of the community center at Bartram Springs in south Duval County, just north of Racetrack Road.

The community center, named The Club at Bartram Springs, will be the focal point of the community, which will feature homes from Atlantic Builders, Morrison Homes and Ryland Homes.

Currently, work is underway on the main clubhouse which will feature meeting rooms, a fitness center, a kitchen and administrative space. The community center will also feature a large pool deck with a large freeform pool connected to a lap pool, a children’s wading pool and a hot tub. The pool deck will feature trellised lounge areas, gazebo-shaded areas and extensive landscaping.
