Realtors from Palm Beach, Miami and Pensacola won top honors at last month’s Florida Association of Realtors convention in Hollywood.

Palm Beach Realtor Mike Owen was named Realtor Associate of the Year. Miami’s Marty “Mo” Veissi took the Realtor of the Year and the Realtor Achievement Award, and Pensacola Realtor Dan Berube and his late wife Mary Berube, also a Pensacola Realtor, were the Realtor Humanitarians of the Year.

Owen, a member of the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches, has served his local association in numerous capacities for more than 23 years, including as secretary/vice president in 2001. Active in both the state and national Realtor organizations, Owen served as FAR president in 1991.

His community involvement includes membership in the Boca Raton Roundtable, the Harvard Business School of South Florida and the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce.

Veissi is a member of the Realtor Association of Greater Miami and The Beaches. She has served the local, state and national Realtor associations in numerous capacities.

She has been chairman of her local association and has served as the chairman for FAR’s International and Professional Development committees. Currently, she serves as the chairman of the Florida Real Estate Commission.

Along with her professional commitments, she works with various youth athletic groups and school organizations, as well as volunteering with House-for-the-Homeless in Miami.

Members of the Pensacola Association of Realtors, the Berubes were recognized as community leaders and honored for their contributions to civic and social service agencies that help to improve and strengthen their community.

Over 12 years ago, the Berubes coordinated an organization called The Third Option in Pensacola, a free educational program aimed at helping to build better marriages and help people in all sorts of relationships work through issues that cause stress and discord — not just couples, but families, siblings, friends and co-workers as well. The program is available nationally and can be found on The Third Option Web site at http://www.thethirdoption.com.
