Builders install officers

Bryan Lendry and Mike Taylor have been installed to lead the area builders’ two more influential organixations.

Lendry, who owns Brylen Homes, will be the president of the Northeast Florida Builders Association and Taylor, sales manager at the Palencia development in St. Johns County, will lead the Sales and Marketing Council.

The installations were at a breakfast at the University of North Florida’s University Center with over 700 attending.

Major awards also were presented.

NEFBA’s Leadership Award was presented to Stan DeAngelis, St. Johns County Building Department official; the Bill Soforenko Affordable Housing Award went to the Builders Care staff; Doug Wenzel of Bonded Builders received the Fred King Associate Member of the Year; and KB Home was selected the Builder Member of the Year.

The first Arnold Tritt Scholarship winners were announced. The scholarship, named for NEFBA’s longtime director, goes to students in the Building Construction Management program at the University of North Florida who demonstrate a financial need and the winners were Thomas LoCicero, Damian Presiga, Myra Shunny and Bradley Sleeth. Each was awarded $2,000.

Winners of the Sales and Marketing Council Scholarship were Matt McKinney, Safe Harbor Boys Home; and Theodore King and Geovan Williams, both of daniel’s JaxBuild.
