SRG Homes & Neighborhoods welcomed approximately 100 Realtors last month to a luncheon event for the opportunity to see its new furnished model home at 139 W. 3rd Street in Jacksonville’s Springfield district.
The Saxelbye model showcases the character of the historic neighborhood. The home’s architectural design makes it appear more like a fully renovated historic home than new construction. SRG’s historically correct new homes are constructed to the exacting standards of Craftsman-style architecture popular at the turn of the century. True to the Craftsman ideal, the new model features a rocking chair front porch, 10-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, and vintage-style architectural trim.
The home is fully decorated in a contemporary Art Deco style by Studio Two Interiors, who used soft environmental colors and an array of furnishings from a variety of retailers to create its unique look.
The home also highlights the work of nine area artists and the Springfield arts community with a unique display of contemporary and traditional works of art coordinated by Steve Williams Contemporary Art, which complements the home’s Craftsman-style architecture and contemporary Art Deco décor.
The Saxelbye was honored with an award for best architectural design in the Northeast Florida Builders Association Laurel Awards competition.
Several Realtors won prizes at the event. Wade Griffin of Prudential Network Realty received a gift card to Bistro AIX, Carol Miller of the Fred Miller Group received a gift card to Matthew’s or Restaurant Medure and Ingrid Green of Streetscape Realty received a gift.
