Dave Josserand, executive vice president and chief strategic officer at The Dalton Agency, has been named to the American Heart Association (AHA)National Administrative Cabinet and Board of Directors.

Josserand, who handles strategic planning, business development and account management for the communications firm, will now add chairman of the communications and marketing committee for the AHA to his list of responsibilities.

“I am honored and really kind of humbled for the responsibilities I will be given over the next year,” said Josserand.

His primary duty will be to oversee the AHA’s external and internal communications efforts.

“The AHA is evolving rapidly,” said Josserand. “For example, it is using paid media to proactively expand its cause. I am going to do a lot to help the AHA continue to evolve. The exciting part is that the AHA does its own communications and has its destiny in its own hands.”

Josserand has participated with the American Heart Association First Coast Division Board for four years and the Florida/Puerto Rico Affiliate Board prior to being named to the national board.

Through a partnership between The Dalton Agency and the AHA, Josserand has provided counsel about media partnerships and other communications initiative, and helped develop national and regional public service announcements for the organization. Josserand also serves as president of Ronald McDonald Charities for North Florida and South Georgia.
