The bronze statue of a runner reappeared Friday in front of the Adam’s Mark Hotel on the Northbank. Thieves attempted to steal the statue September 18, when they apparently tried to rip the statue out of the concrete with their truck. The $38,000 statue was donated by the Jacksonville Track Club to commemorate the Gate River Run. Repairs to the 500–pound statue cost $6,100.
