Beazer Homes is opening a regional office in Jacksonville for its Southeast operations, which will include the addition of six employees from its Tampa, Orlando and Fort Myers divisions.

In addition to bringing the Southeast operations to Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Division is also opening a new Regional Training Facility and Design Studio at its office off Kenan Drive.

“Beazer Homes has experienced phenomenal growth and success throughout the Southeast Region,” said Division President Barbara Moore. “As we continue to grow, it has become necessary to regionalize many of the responsibilities that were previously handled at a corporate level. We are excited about this new change and the opportunities that lie ahead for Beazer Homes.”

The new Regional staff will include Regional Project Manager Cliff Dodson, Regional Applications Project Leader Chloe Harding, Regional Mortgage Vice President Fred Miller, Regional Chief Financial Officer George Schulmeyer, Regional Purchasing Director Duane Sistik, and Vice President of Employee and Organizational Development Tina-Marie Zolezzi.

Zolezzi will serve as the programs director of the new training facility.

The 1,800-square-foot facility will be the training hub for the nearly 450 Beazer Homes employees throughout the region. Training programs will be offered on a daily basis and will include topics for virtually every Beazer Homes employee from sales to construction to accounting. Many of the training programs will focus on customer service, leadership, communication and management.

“This new training facility will enable us to have on-going programs for all Beazer Homes employees and continuity in their training,” Moore said. “The training programs are a way to integrate new techniques and new ideas and refresh how we do things.”

The Jacksonville facility was modeled after the company’s training facility in Las Vegas and will accommodate 22 trainees at a time. The training directors will have complete wireless capabilities.

The design Studio has 2,000 square feet and will be staffed by Manager Wendy Chandler and Counselors Lori Ophardt and Debbie Schreiber.

Beazer Homes was the recipient of the 2003 Golden Service Award, one of only three Grand Laurel Awards presented each year by the Northeast Florida Builders Association Sales and Marketing Council, for its customer service program.
