Jacksonville Homebuyer, now in its second year serving the Northeast Florida real estate market, recently celebrated its first anniversary by winning the coveted Laurel Award as “Best Publication for Consumers.”

The glossy quarterly magazine is designed specifically to help buyers choose their home and their neighborhood through in-depth editorial copntent, appealing graphics and comprehensive directory information. It is the only consumer-oriented real estate publication that is written and designed like the best city/regional magazines.

“Our entire concept was to produce a real estate magazine that is as good as any general-interest consumer magazine,” says Publisher Penelope Geismar. “People who are relocating need more than generic content and incomplete listings to make a decision. They need to understand the community, its history and its values. Our intention was to produce a magazine that would make readers experts on the city and what makes it tick.”

Geismar and Group Publisher Randy Noles have long histories in the Northeast Florida market. Both are award-winning publishing industry professionals with more than 25 years of experience in national, regional and local magazines. Sales Manager Maria Pappas is a veteran marketing executive who has worked in the local building community for more than a decade while Account Manager Cathy Elmaleh has a background in home decor publications.

Editor Belinda Hulin is an award-winning journalist and former feature editor of the Florida Times-Union.

Jacksonville Homebuyer has emerged as the most prestigious regional estate publication in Northeast Florida, carrying an advertising roster of the area’s top builders, real estate professionals, home product retailers, financial institutions and developments.

It is distributed through real estate offices, where it is widely used by sales professionals to assist potential buyers, and to relocators through a sophisticated, web-based inquiry program. Advertisers are regularly supplied with hot leads generated by Jacksonville Homebuyer. Other distribution outlets include high-traffic newsstands (including Jacksonville International Airport and area bookstores) and selected retailers.

The parent company of Jacksonville Homebuyer is Gulfshore Media. The Sarasota-based company, which is one of the largest privately owned magazine publishing companies in the state, publishes Sarasota Magazine and Gulfshore Life Magazine in Naples as well as Homebuyer titles in Orlando, Sarasota and Naples. The company’s publications have won more than 120 national and regional awards for editorial excellence.

Jacksonville Homebuyer is located at 103 Century 21 Boulevard, Ste. 119 (in the NEFBA building). For more information contact the magazine at (904)724-3330.
