• Seven lawyers from Foley & Lardner have been selected by their peers for inclusion in “The Best Lawyers in America 2005-2006.” The attorneys are Charles E. Commander III, Gardner F. Davis, Kevin E. Hyde, William D. King, Chauncey W. Lever Jr., Emerson M. Lotzia and Luther F. Sadler Jr. Lawyers are selected based on peer-review surveys in which 16,000 attorneys throughout the country vote on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their specialties.
• JEA has been honored by the Florida Municipal Electric Association for its work during the string of hurricanes that hit Florida. JEA received the Community Restoration Award for its commitment and service to restore power following the storms.
• Shipping local water to South Florida hasn’t been talked about for some time, but JEA officials said Tuesday they expect those discussions to pick up some time this year. “That is going to be a very important policy issue that we may be faced with,” said Mike Hightower, local Republican party chair.

• Two local moving companies have been honored by their parent companies. Suddath Relocation Systems was recognized as a member of the President’s Club, which honors agents who have generated at least $1 million is sales, for fleet safety and hauling achievement. Hill’s Van Service of North Florida, Inc. received the Million Dollar Club award from Mayflower Transit
for being one of the companies top revenue
producers.
