• After much consideration, City Council member Art Graham said Tuesday he will not run for supervisor of elections. Council member Jerry Holland and former Council member Gwen Chandler remain the only candidates to publicly announce their intentions to run for the job.
• The Bankruptcy Court clerk’s office will be closed Thursday from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. for the Bankruptcy Clerk’s Luncheon at the Omni.
• The Salvation Army and the I.M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless are working together to help homeless men displaced by construction at the Sulzbacher Center. The Salvation Army is lending space to house the men so they’ll have a place to sleep.
• Several locals, including Mike Tolbert, former mayor Jake Godbold and Florida Coastal School of Law’s Eric Smith, are holding a Cracker Cookin’ Fish Fry to help save the Palms Fish Camp. The fundraiser is set for Dec. 5 from noon-3 p.m. at the Palms on Hecksher Drive. Cost is $30 for all you can eat.
• Remember plans to build Norm’s Pub & Post on Laura Street next to the Elks Club Building? Word is the space is now being renovated for a new restaurant.

• According to the Jacksonville & the Beaches Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Georgia-Florida game had an economic impact of $25.5 million and generated 33,365 hotel room nights, a 28 percent increase in room nights from last year.
• Jags fans attending Sunday’s game against the rival Tennessee Titans may want to stay in their seats during halftime. Jaxson De Ville is celebrating his birthday and he’s promising some special “mayhem.”

• Mayor John Peyton has recommended former City Council member Alberta Hipps for a seat on the Workforce Florida board of directors. Gov. Jeb Bush, who will make the appointment, thanked Peyton and said Hipps would be considered.
• State Chief Financial Officer Tom Gallagher thanked Mayor Peyton for his help in passing Amendment 6 in the recent election. Gallagher and Peyton stumped together to pass the amendment, which essentially kills the State’s plans to build a high-speed train.
• The Haskell Company has received a merit award from the Design-Build Institute of America for its renovation and restoration of the Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art.
