Cynthia Montello, president and founder of The Montello Agency, addressed more than 100 women at Southside Church of God In Christ last month to discuss how creating a successful business can be used as a way to promote the Word of God and enhance community well-being.

As keynote speaker of a meeting to announce the charter of the Business and Professional Women’s Federation of the Florida Central Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church Of God In Christ, Montello outlined that her primary key has been remaining fair, ethical, and faithful to Christian principles. The women in attendance included professionals, business owners, entrepreneurs and those interested in pursuing their own businesses, Citing examples from her 28 years in advertising, Montello discussed how her involvement in community projects, such as daniel, The Donna Hicken Foundation, Safe Harbor Boys’ Home, HOPE International, and Jacksonville City Rescue Mission has enriched both her company’s staff and her life.

“I have a deep responsibility to do all in my power to help those in need. There is no greater fulfillment than knowing God used me for His service. The key to being successful in business and life is to surrender your will to His and be obedient to His teachings,” she said. “Giving back to the community we live in is satisfying to our entire staff.”

According to Evangelist Thelma Rigby, the federation president, “We became aware of Cynthia through her story in Donna Hicken’s autobiography and realized how she could provide our members with an example of how a woman can own a successful business and remain obedient to the Lord’s teachings.”
