• The Jaguars were affected by the storm, too. The team cancelled its outdoor practice Monday, instead going through conditioning drills under the stadium.

• The two downtown YMCAs will reopen today. They’ve been closed since Friday.

• A big dance competition is coming downtown. It’s part of the national Dancers Cup Tour and there will be ballroom dancers competing in the Adam’s Mark on Sept. 30-Oct. 2.

• Downtown Photo in Independent Square has closed permanently.

• The Metropolitan Planning Organization has announced the final series of public workshops that will help the group develop its 2030 Long Range Transportation Plan. The workshops will be held from Oct. 4-14 at eight locations and the public is encouraged to attend the meetings and voice support for projects they would like to see move forward. • City Council member Suzanne Jenkins’ bill proposing a zero tolerance litter policy got a bit of a reprieve last week. Thought to carry a $15 million a year price tag, Jenkins said that figure has dropped significantly. After working with Council auditors, Jenkins said about $3.5 million could be used to pay for receptacles in public parks and weekly or biweekly trash pick-ups.

• The City might save some more, as it has a helping hand when it comes to making sure the Five Points shopping area is clean. You’ll see Edge City owner Tom McCleery early each morning picking up trash and watering the new landscaping.

• The Jacksonville Airport Authority spent the month of August raising money for the American Heart Association. They’ll donate $3,500 to the cause.

• The Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art’s Cafe Nola will begin serving dinner on Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 15, which is just in time for JMOMA’s Underground Cinema film series.

• A new upscale men’s clothing shop has opened in Avondale. Hayden’s Haberdashery, which will carry Burberry, Breuer, Corbin and other menswear designers, is located at 3568 St. Johns Ave.
