Jim Ash, president of The Pineapple Corporation, was named the Northeast Florida Builders Association Member of the Month in June. Ash signed up 18 new members in a one-month period.

“Increasing membership has been a personal goal for me this year, and I’ve encouraged other members to make it a priority as well,” said Bryan Lendry, NEFBA president. “Jim’s outstanding effort sets an example for every member of the association. Obviously, Jim’s commitment to the industry is reflected in the way he does business, and bringing in new members is part of that. I’m very pleased about this accomplishment and congratulate Jim for setting a new standard of excellence.”

Ash said Lendry was very effective in motivating him to sign up new members.

“All I can say is, Bryan knows how to apply pressure,” Ash said. “But the threats aside, I truly believe in this organization and its benefits to members and the community. And I think it is important to get the message out to new trades people and suppliers that NEFBA is responsible for many things we don’t realize. The hard work of NEFBA and its members supports all of us.”

Ash said he enrolled 18 of his own trade partners in a one-month period, and is continuing to seek other opportunities to sign up new members.

“We take a little out, and we need to give a little back,” he said. “It’s easy to take the political and financial health of our industry for granted, but we need to stop and think about where the benefits come from and just how much NEFBA does.”
