With this week’s Workspace profile, we’re coming full circle. About a year ago we premiered the weekly feature with a piece on immediate past City Council president Elaine Brown. Now it’s Kevin Hyde’s turn. Hyde, a partner in the Foley & Lardner law firm downtown, was installed as Council president in July. It took a week to get everything in order, he said, and now he’s ready to work.
“I’d describe it as being comfortable in here,” Hyde said of his new digs. “There’s a lot more open space in here than I think other Council presidents have had in the past, but I like it.”
The office, which is located on the fourth floor of City Hall at Hemming Plaza, is one of the largest in the building. Hyde said it was easy for him to decide what to put on display, even though he has received plenty of mementos since he took office just over two years ago.
“Most of what you see are things I had before I got elected,” he said. “And really, I usually get pens. I use those.”
