HOW LONG HAVE THEY BEEN THERE?
Watters has been at The St. Johns Realty Group for five years. Wynne just joined the company in June to team up with Watters.
THEIR HISTORY?
Watters has been in real estate for more than 20 years. Before St. Johns Realty Group, she was with Watson Realty for a year and Best Investments for a year. She started her career with Century 21 St. Augustine Properties where she worked for eight years. Wynne has been a quality assurance inspector at Northrop Grumman for 18 years.
HOW DID THEY BECOME A TEAM?
“We became a team after about a year and a half of dating,” said Wynne. “I helped her with her real estate chores and decided this is something I enjoy. I love working with people.” Watters said that Wynne is very good at what he does at Northrop Grumman and that he is set to retire in January. “He’s very thorough, very computer knowledgeable and good at sales. I thought we would make a good team together professionally since we are teaming up romantically.” Wynne is planning on being a full-time Realtor when he retires in January.
SPECIALIZation?
They like to specialize in downtown St. Augustine or waterfront properties. Watters’ website is www.Staugustinewatters.com.
GOAL AS A TEAM?
“To give the best of service to customers whether they are buying or selling,” said Watters.
HOW DO THEY COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER?
Watters is very people-oriented and she has lived in St.Augustine all of her life. “Edgar’s computer skills are excellent,” said Watters. “He has also been a home inspector, so he is very knowledgeable about construction.” “We think a lot alike and both enjoy the same things in life,” said Wynne.
HOW DID YOUR PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE HELP YOU IN REAL ESTATE?
Wynne said his job experience has helped in real estate because he has learned to negotiate between parties in both types of work. Watters was a waitress before getting into real estate and said it is all about the people skills. “I truly believe that if you can be a very good waitress that you can be a good Realtor if you just dedicate yourself,” said Watters. She also worked in interior design doing window treatments for Sears. “That job made me interested in houses and decorating.”
PROBLEM SOLVER?
“I’ve been a problem solver all my life,” said Watters. “I think a really good Realtor is a problem solver with good people skills.”
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT REAL ESTATE?
“I decided to get into real estate because I found I enjoy the people and the changes every day,” said Wynne. “I enjoy being able to see the joy on the faces of people when a deal comes together.” Watters said she enjoys working with the people and seeing all the beautiful new homes and condominiums going up in the area.
HOW IS IT WORKING AS A TEAM?
“It’s wonderful,” said Watters. “It’s like that saying ‘Two heads are better than one.’ Each one of us contributes ideas that we have about marketing and advertising. We get together and talk about them and I think it brings out the best ideas from both of us. It’s proven very good. We both collect classic cars and our advertisement is a photo of us in front of our old cars. It reads ‘Classy, dependable proven performers.’”
LESSONS LEARNED?
“Don’t ever give up on a deal,” said Watters. “One size does not fit all as far as finding financing. One of the things I do is to help people find the right financing for them. I will go with them to different financing institutions to find the right fit.” Wynne said to work hard and always be honest, fair and truthful.
ADVICE FOR NEW AGENTS?
“Stay focused and set goals for yourself on how you want to deal with people,” said Watters. “Decide if you want to focus on residential or commercial real estate and make that your main focus. Always deal fair and honestly with the public and your fellow Realtors. Keep hanging in there.”

Watters in involved with the St. Augustine/St. Johns County Board of Realtors, Northeast Florida Association of Realtors and Flagler County Board of Realtors. “I feel I can help my customers better by being a member of all three boards and being able to pull up information in any of the three counties they may want.” Wynne is involved in the St. Augustine/St. Johns County Board of Realtors, Elks Lodge, VFW and American Legion.
