Margo Dundon’s office decor is in stark contrast to the surroundings just outside her door. Tucked away in the colorful Museum of Science & History on the Southbank, her cozy quarters boasts assorted photos, framed achievements and other modest keepsakes.
“I wish I had to more to display, but this is it,” said Dundon, who for nearly 15 years has served as MOSH’s President and CEO. “It’s difficult to say how I go about decorating in here. I guess if I find something particularly interesting or memorable I find a place for it, but it’s hard when you’re given something just about anytime you speak at an event or participate in something around the city.”
Born in Cleveland, Dundon moved to Jacksonville in the spring of 1990 to go to work for the museum. Since that time she has made connections through the Rotary Club of Jacksonville and at the Jacksonville & the Beaches Convention and Visitors Bureau, which she currently serves as chair.
“I’ve been very fortunate to be involved with the groups that I am,” Dundon said. “Among other things, it’s allows me the opportunity to network and become familiar with a lot of influential people in Jacksonville. With those connections I’m able to work towards bettering the museum and bettering the city.”
