Jacksonville Jaguars employees spent a portion of Thursday morning out in the hot and humid weather at Alltel Stadium checking all 76,877 seats to make sure they are ready for the 2005 football season.
“We are trying to make sure the facility is in tip-top shape to welcome back the fans,” said Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver. “We are making sure it is in great shape to get ready for a big season.”
There were about 80 members of the Jaguars staff and some staff family members walking around the stadium checking each and every seat, from the field level to the upper decks.
“This our training camp,” said Weaver. “It is a great way to get our staff here and participate in this together.”
If something was found wrong with a seat, employees marked the seat by using green tape with either A, B, C, D or E. A stood for loose seat, B - bolt or screw loose, C - cup holder problem, D - adhesives, or E - other issues.
“We do this so the maintenance crew can come in and quickly identify what needs to be fixed by looking at the letter,” said Weaver.
Outside of the stadium, Jaguars quarterback, Byron Leftwich was serving Lemon Freeze cups to children from the Jaguars new Cool Catmobile.
