Frost to receive top honor
Though Lou Frost Jr. retired from his position as public defender in January, his days of being recognized for his many years of public service aren’t over yet.
Frost has been chosen to receive the Florida Bar’s Criminal Law Section’s prestigious Selig Golden Award at the Bar’s June 22-25 meeting in Orlando.
The award is named after the late Selig Golden, a longtime public defender who was instrumental in founding the Florida Bar’s criminal law section.
Frost was public defender in Jacksonville from 1968 until his retirement this past January. Though this is indeed a high honor for Frost, it is by no means the first time he has been recognized for his long, career. In 1975, he received the highest award given by the National Legal Aid and Defender Association.
