An ethical life doesn’t have to be a casualty of a successful legal career, U.S. Attorney Paul Perez told the Christian Legal Society Friday at the group’s luncheon at the University Club on the Southbank. Perez credited his own devout Catholic upbringing with instilling values in him that have made him a successful lawyer. “There doesn’t have to be a contradiction between ethics and success,” he said. “In this world, success is too often measured by wealth or status. In the spiritual world, success comes from sacrifice and self-restraint and from helping others.”
