Kim Swartz, an entertainment attorney at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP in Los Angeles, has been added to the Jacksonville Film Festival’s Entertainment Law Panel.
He was the official entertainment attorney and a sponsor of the Malibu Film Festival in April and was a speaker at the recent River Run International Film Festival in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The panel is designed for both legal and filmmaking professionals and will address traditional and alternative ways to finance independent film, secure music licenses and distribute agreements.
The seminar will be Friday from 1-5 p.m. at La Cena Restaurant and will be chaired by local entertainment law attorney Carolyn Herman.
The seminar is sponsored by the Jacksonville Bar Association, Holland & Knight LLP, Constangy, Brooks & Smith, and the Florida Coastal School of Law.
Attorneys applying for the four CLE credits available must register through the Jacksonville Bar Association at 399-4486. The advance cost is $85 for JBA members and $100 for non-members, with both fees an extra or $25 at the door.
This forum is included for festival attendees with All-Access passes for $15.
