University of Florida Levin College of Law

• Dean Robert Jerry received this year’s Julie Sina Award, which is given annually to a UF faculty member who shows outstanding commitment to their students. Student Government leaders chose Jerry from UF’s approximate 2,800 faculty members for the award.

Florida State University College of Law

• FSU’s College of Law jumped 11 positions in the latest U.S. News and World Report list of the best graduate programs. It has also been ranked as on of the most diverse law programs and the 14th best for its environmental law program.

University of Miami School of Law

• Four UM Law alumni have found themselves working together again but this time it is not in the stacks. Kendra Davis, Maja Holman, Katrice Jenkins and Stenise Rolle are all associates at Parks and Crump, LLC in Tallahassee.

Stetson University College of Law

• U.S. News and World Report has once again ranked Stetson’s law school as tied for the best school in the nation for trial advocacy training. The school was also tied for third in the nation for its legal research and writing program.Since 1995, Stetson has consistently ranked at or near the top for advocacy training, receiving first place seven of those years.

University of Georgia School of Law

• Professor Ronald Carlson received the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association Lifetime Achievement Award this month. The GTLA also announced their endowment of the Ron Carlson Evidence Award which will go to a deserving UGA law student in honor of Carlson’s dedication to the Georgia Bar.

Florida Coastal School of Law

• FSCL is planning to launch a sports law center which will aim to train students wanting to become sports agents. Dean Peter Goplerud said once established the new center will make FCSL one of only three law school that offer a full concentration in sports law.
