The Northeast Florida Builders Association has hired Corey Deal as Governmental Affairs coordinator and Nellie Flynn as an administrative assistant.
Deal will assist with coordinating the government affairs program and communicating issues and concerns to NEFBA members and the public on matters that affect the industry.
With the growth of the association and the increasing issues in Duval and surrounding counties, Deal will be very busy. His primary focus will be working with the Codes and Standards, the Government Affairs and the Political Action committees. He will also be involved in working on the political campaigns of industry-minded candidates to help ensure the continued success of housing in Northeast Florida.
A native of Georgia, Deal graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in finance. He obtained a master’s in business administration from Samford University.
Prior to joining NEFBA, Deal was a commercial loan officer for AgSouth Farm Credit in Georgia. He also worked for Wells Fargo Financial, and served as defensive assistant football coach at Samford.
Flynn comes to NEFBA with 22 years of experience in management, training and development.
Flynn, who had retired from MPS, was interested in a job with NEFBA primarily because of the location and the fact she did not have to fight downtown traffic to get to work. Flynn also has NEFBA family ties. NEFBA Past President Ray Nasrallah (1971) is her brother-in-law. He is married to her sister Annie.
As receptionist and administrative assistant, Flynn is the primary staff contact for visitors and members. She also assists with membership applications, promotional materials and special events.
“Nellie has been such a good fit here,” said Arnold Tritt, Executive Vice President. “She just seemed like one of the family - and it turned out she is.”
