Snyder Memorial is getting a new $385,000 roof, and according to a sign posted on the Monroe Street side of the building, it’s now “Snyder Music Hall.” The granite and limestone Gothic Revival structure was built to replace the Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church that was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1901. The first services were held in the new church in 1902, at which time it was renamed Snyder Memorial in honor of former pastor, E. B. Snyder, whose children had donated to the rebuilding project.
