Northeast Florida Builders Association outgoing President Jerry Linder, (right), presented Government Affairs Coordinator Corey Deal with the association’s Good Government Award at the group’s board meeting last Wednesday. Deal has been with the association since February and said one of the most rewarding aspects of this past political season was the voters’ decision on Cecil Field. “We put a lot of hours in for the folks that live out around that area,” said Deal. “It was good to see the hard work pay off in the end.” Deal came to NEFBA after working with a farm credit association in South Georgia. He said NEFBA gave him the opportunity to make a career switch into politics.
