Representatives from The Davidson Cos., Davidson Realty Inc. and Davidson Development Inc., recently participated in a safari-themed groundbreaking event for the company’s new 17,200-square-foot home.

Donning expedition attire, employees and more than 30 sales agents were on hand for the festivities, held on the building’s site at the Town Center intersection on WGV Boulevard, just across the stone bridge and inside the main entranceway of World Golf Village.

“The incredible growth of our companies over the last several years prompted our decision to build a permanent home at World Golf Village,” said Sherry Davidson, president of Davidson Realty Inc. “We have more than 30 agents at Davidson Realty and beyond 60 people companywide, so we really need the additional space.”

The site construction commenced in mid-October and building construction began in mid-November. The Davidson Cos. plan to move into the new office in December 2006.

Designed by Ronald Scalisi Architects P.A., the two-story building’s design is reminiscent of the stylistic arts & crafts movement and the indigenous American prairie style. Connie Turner of Connie Turner Interior Design and Space Planning will handle the interior design work. Joe Mecca of Kimley-Horn and Associates provided site engineering and permitting. Tim Young of E.C. Kenyon Construction Co. was awarded the construction contract.
