Wells runs unopposed for FBA
Incumbent S. Grier Wells of Jacksonville was reelected without opposition for two years to the Florida Bar’s Board of Governors. There were 18 officers elected or reelected without opposition throughout the state. Ballots for contested races will be mailed on or before March 1 and must be returned to the Bar’s election office no later than March 21. Bar members have the choice of voting by paper ballot or electronically via the Internet. All board members will take office in June.
New members of Jacksonville office
Brennan, Manna & Diamond have added three attorneys to its Jacksonville office. Andrew K. Kantor, of counsel, litigation, labor & employment and criminal defense is now with the firm. Kantor is a former assistant State Attorney division chief and city general counsel. Matthew T. Jackson, associate, litigation, government relations and military affairs also joined the firm. Jackson is the former executive council assistant to City Council member Reggie Fullwood. Heather S. Mason joined the firm as an associate, business and real estate.
Firm hosts workshop

University teams with Florida Bar for Media Law seminar
Stetson University College of Law and the Media and Communications Law Committee of the Florida Bar will sponsor a Media Law Conference for journalists, public relations professionals and attorneys March 3 at the Tampa Law Center. The conference, “Media Law: Privacy, Publicity & Privilege,” features more than 30 speakers including Florida Supreme Court Justice Harry Lee Anstead and Assistant General Counsel George Freeman, the attorney for the New York Times’ Judith Miller case.
