Toll Brothers has started construction at Coastal Oaks at Nocatee. The site, one of only two initial residential communities, will start seeing major changes over the next few months.

“Site development has begun,” says George Leone, land acquisition manager for Toll Brothers. “This phase of development includes site clearing along with the installation of roads and utilities.”

Clearing should start at the end of this month and earthwork will begin later this spring. Utility and road work is planned for this summer. Potential residents should be able to get into the community by early 2007.

Coastal Oaks will be a private, gated community featuring approximately 900 luxury single-family estate homes, neo-traditional homes, town homes and village homes. The community is the one of the first two phases of villages to be developed within Nocatee.

It will have a grand entrance leading to a central spine road that will connect the individual villages. Several miles of walking and biking trails will wind throughout the community and will include points of access to the Nocatee Greenway System, an interconnected multi-purpose recreational trail system throughout Nocatee.

The amenities at Coastal Oaks will include a community center with several swimming pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, clubhouse and other related facilities. In addition, there will also be a 10-acre activity park complete with multi-purpose field, softball field, tennis and basketball courts, tot lot, and picnic pavilions.

In all, Coastal Oaks will consist of 11 villages that will have their own internal park for recreation. More than 90 percent of the homes will back up to water or nature preserves.
