The 2006 Bank of America Symphony Showhouse presented by SRG Homes & Neighborhoods, the largest developer of single-family homes in Springfield, is coming to life. Construction is well underway on the show homes, which are the centerpiece of a fundraising event that will take place Oct. 7-22 in Springfield.

“We are building four exceptional homes that celebrate world-class design and cutting-edge construction technologies in the area’s hottest downtown neighborhood,” SRG CEO Mack Bissette said. “Each home showcases a different design theme, offering endless possibilities for the Showhouse Designers.”

The 2006 Bank of America Symphony Showhouse consists of four SRG custom homes near the corner of Fourth and Silver streets. SRG’s designs are named for the Jacksonville architects who helped shape the area. The company is building the Powell, Dozier, New Saxelbye and Ellis with a garage apartment for the Showhouse.

The Powell, 1412 Silver St., has 2,853 square feet and showcases a traditional design. The Dozier, 1414 Silver St., has 2,306 square feet and is gristmill with ivory trim and black accents. The New Saxelbye, 1416 Silver St., has 2,288 square feet and a yellow exterior with beige trim and brown accents. The Ellis with garage apartment, 1420 Silver St., has 1,916 square feet and is shipyard grey with repose grey trim and auburn accents.

“The details in the Ellis will resemble homes built at the turn-of-the-century, the way they used to be built 100 years ago,” said Mary Porter, who is making the interior selections for SRG. She is the owner of Mary Porter Interior and an ASID Allied Member. Porter says she is impressed with the progress SRG has made on the show homes.

“SRG is so organized and well managed,” Porter said. “These four houses are on track to be finished way ahead of schedule. It will make it so nice for the Showhouse designers who come in and transform the interiors of these homes into memorable spaces.”

SRG homes for the 2006 Bank of America Symphony Showhouse are priced starting in the $600s.

Members of the Jacksonville Symphony Guild selected Springfield as the site of the 2006 Bank of America Symphony Showhouse, which runs October 7-22.

The Jacksonville Historic Preservation Commission honored SRG for its architecturally compatible new construction. The company has also received architectural design awards from the Florida Home Builders Association, the Northeast Florida Builders Association Sales & Marketing Council and the Atlanta SMC.
