• Central Riverside Elementary School will honor its 90-year history Thursday with a day-long celebration. Alumni of Central Riverside – such as State Attorney Harry Shorstein, Circuit Court Judge Bernard Nachman, architect Ted Pappas and Darnell teacher Douglas Meeks – will participate in a panel discussion with fifth grade students to share and exchange stories about their experiences at the school.
• You can get a flu or pneumonia shot at the Duval County Health Department. Flu shots are $20, pneumonia shots are $32 and are administered from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mon.-Fri. at 5220 N. Pearl St. The immunizations are recommended for infants 6-23 months, people 65 and older, people with chronic medical conditions, pregnant women, caregivers, children on aspirin therapy and healthcare workers providing direct patient care. • The Florida Greenways and Trails Foundation has received a $5,000 grant for the Jacksonville-Baldwin Trail from ULTRA Trails. The funds will support the City’s planned enhancements for the 14.5-mile trail, including construction of restroom facilities at the Imeson Trailhead. ULTRA Trails is a partnership between Anheuser-Busch, Michelob ULTRA and The Conservation Fund. The grant is one of only four presented nationally.
