• The Landing is hosting “ACC Night of the Legends” at 5 p.m. tonight. Admission is free and former ACC football players Marco Coleman (Georgia Tech), Gino Torretta (Miami) and William Floyd (Florida State) are scheduled to appear.
• This time of year is a critical period for giving blood, but it’s often forgotten during the holiday rush. People who give blood from Nov. 20-27 will receive a limited-edition American Red Cross apron. • The Jacksonville & the Beaches Convention and Visitors Bureau received Corporate & Incentive Travel magazine’s 2006 “Award of Excellence.” The award marks the fourth consecutive year the CVB has been honored. More than 40,000 meeting planners and key executives cast their vote each year for their choice as the top tourism agency for corporate meetings and incentive travel groups. The tourism industry brings six million visitors a year to North Florida who spend $3 billion and support more than 113,000 local jobs.
• Politics do mix if it’s the local Republican Party. The Republic Executive Committee meets Monday at the Fraternal Order of Police headquarters. The social is at 6 p.m. followed by the meeting at 7. Attendees are encouraged to wear their Jags gear so they can head straight to the stadium for Monday night’s game against the New York Giants.
