• You’ll have to wait a little longer for the opening for the new Fuddruckers hamburgers at the Landing. It’s been pushed back to October because the custom design for the kitchen space is taking longer than expected.

• The first of two weeks of national publicity for the Jaguars starts Sunday when FOX’s top broadcast team will be in town for the Jaguars-Cowboys game. Play-by-play man Joe Buck, analyst Troy Aikman and sideline reporter Pam Oliver will cover the season-opener for both teams. Buck will also co-host with Terry Bradshaw the “FOX NFL Sunday” show that includes analysts Howie Long and Jimmie Johnson. This Sunday’s show will be at the Pepsi Plaza outside the south end zone at Alltel Stadium. Next Monday night, the ESPN “Monday Night Football” crew will be here when the Jags face the Pittsburgh Steelers.

• Lost in the recent shuffle of Downtown buildings — the Kuhn Company bought the Laura Trio from the Police & Fire Pension Fund while the City conveyed the old Haverty’s building to the Fund — is this little tidbit: the City also conveyed the Snyder Memorial building to the Fund at no cost.

• City Council Vice President Daniel Davis and Council Members Elaine Brown and Suzanne Jenkins had a meeting about Downtown workforce housing Tuesday at City Hall. They invited developers Greg Matovina and Jed Davis and asked them to come up with some ideas about how the building community can get involved. Not much came of the initial meeting, but the group is planning to take a tour of possible sites later this month.

• The Justice Coalition got $25,000 worth of good news from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The money was confiscated from illegal drug deals and will be used by the Justice Coalition to help fund its newspaper, Victims’ Advocate.

• The Jacksonville Chapter of Children’s International Summer Villages is holding its 2006 Peace Builder Award luncheon at the Wyndham from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Oct. 12. Children’s rights activist Kimmie Weeks will be the keynote speaker.

• Allstate Workplace Division is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and one of the big events planned is the presentation of a $25,000 grant to HabiJax at the end of the month. Formerly known as the American Heritage Life Insurance Company, Allstate earlier donated $26,500 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida.

• Mayor John Peyton and the Jacksonville Public Library Board of Trustees are holding a library summit to get input on the library’s future. “Destination: next” is Wednesday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Main Library. Lunch will be provided and there’s free parking at the Duval Street garage. Call 630-6466 by Friday to reserve a spot.

• The two-story building at the corner of Hogan and Adams is on the market for $1.8 million. Commercial real estate broker Easton, Sanderson and Company is handling the 18,000 square-foot building. It can also be leased for $18 a square foot. According to the Property Appraiser’s Web site, the building is owned by Roefsco Hogan LLC out of Norcross, Ga. and was last sold March 22, 2005 for $500,000.
