• The Jacksonville Jaguars announced they are selling four-game Mini-Packs for this season. Only 1,000 Mini-Packs will be sold and are only available in the upper deck of Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. The pack includes one game per month during the regular season and costs $152. The four games included are the Titans on Sept. 9, the Colts on Oct. 22, the Bills on Nov. 25 and the Raiders on Dec. 23. • Batter up: The City of Jacksonville Department of Parks, Recreation and Entertainment will hold registration for fall softball leagues through Aug. 17. There will be a manager’s meeting Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at 851 N. Market St. when teams may register in the Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Co-ed Open, Men’s and Co-ed Church, Men’s Industrial and Sunday Modified Co-ed divisions. • Speaking of JALA, on-line donations to its “10-4: Injustice Over and Out” capital campaign have exceeded $5,000 to date. The goal of the campaign is to increase donations by 10 percent every year through 2010. To donate, go to jaxlegalaid.org.
• The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District is holding a series of meetings across the state to introduce David Hobbie, its new chief of the Corps Regulatory Division. The meetings are for consultants, developers, non-governmental agencies and officials and the media. The Jacksonville meeting is Aug. 14 at the Crowne Plaza.
• Sellstate Performance Realty Network is hosting a Short Sale Workshop for area realtors from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Ramada Inn in Mandarin. They are bringing in a Floyd Wickman trainer. • Dr. Richard Danford, president of the Jacksonville Urban League, has been appointed to the 23-member Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Blueprint Commission. The group is being convened to address issues in the statewide juvenile justice system including recidivism, minority overrepresentation and gender-specific responses to the rapid increase in the number of girls entering the system.
• Attorney Carol Miller of Jacksonville Area Legal Aid’s Community Counsel Program has been elected president of the Jacksonville Pilot Club for 2007-08. The Pilot Club, which has been around for 40 years, raises awareness and funds for brain-related injuries. This year’s big fundraiser is a tour of Evergreen Cemetery.
